Location: HKEX - Exchange Square Shift: Standard - 40 Hours (Hong Kong SAR) Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40 Worker Type: Contract Job Summary: ODP VaR BA Job Duties: Background In line with its strategic goal of building the Marketplace of the Future, Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited ("HKEX" and, together with its subsidiaries, the "HKEX Group") is undertaking a comprehensive modernization of its trade and post-trade infrastructure for the derivatives market, spanning business processes and systems, covering our central trading, central counterparty clearing ("CCP") and risk management functions. Position An experienced Business Analyst is required to define the requirements of the new risk management system. The successful candidate will work as part of a project team to ensure requirements are clearly articulated and understood by the build teams. The role involves close liaison with risk Subject Matter Experts (SME), as well as internal business and IT leads. The Business Analyst's responsibilities include: Collaborating with risk SME and risk system users to define the functional and technical requirements of the new risk system, capturing such requirements in clear and structured documentation Working with IT and/or third party software developers to ensure that requirements are understood and solutions are developed to fulfil the requirements; Review system specifications to make sure they are aligned with the functional and non-functional requirements and to ensure traceability is maintained from platform capabilities to detailed functional specifications Contribute to the definition of implementation and migration plans for the target applications Contribute to test strategy and test cases; liaising with testing teams to ensure completeness of verification. Essential skills University degree, preferably in engineering, finance, information technology or related disciplines; At least 5 years of experience in financial industry, preferably in well-established financial organizations Knowledge of market risk management discipline in bank and/or clearing broker or system vendor, particularly Value-at-Risk methodology with application to financial instruments Proven business analysis experience on large projects Strong analytical, communication and presentations skills Strong inter-personal and effective relationship management skills Excellent command of written and spoken English, with proficiency in Cantonese an advantage Desirable skills Experience of working in a risk management department of clearing house, clearing brokerage or bank Experience with implementing core risk management systems Experience of working within a structured project management framework Knowledge of derivatives products Knowledge of financial markets and industry drivers IIBA and/or PMI-PBA certified, or equivalent Company Introduction: Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEX) is one of the world's major exchange groups, and operates a range of equity, commodity, fixed income and currency markets.
