Our client is a product company, the software they develop is used across financial services industry Job Title                      Senior Project Manager Department                Professional Services Reporting to               Hong Kong Head of Delivery & Program Management Product Regulatory Overview The successful candidate will oversee several projects simultaneously over the full project life cycle. Responsibilities will include the management of solution implementation, managing and strengthening relationships with clients, motivating/managing project team members on a day-to-day basis, and providing regular communication and visibility to senior management. Manage project timelines, and deliverables. Managing simultaneous projects, such as new client implementations or system upgrades. Conduct regular system audits to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Collaborate with stakeholders to define business requirements and ensure alignment with the strategic direction of the organization. The project manager will also assist in Pre-Sales activities such as scope definition in sales meetings with prospective clients that are made up of Banks, Hedge Funds, Fund Administrators, Asset Managers, Energy Companies, and Insurance Companies. The candidate will also be expected to participate in an on-going program to improve internal processes. The candidate is required to work closely with other team members globally such as sales, client services, technical support, and product management. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards. Identify opportunities for process improvement and standardization across the organization. Expected to assist in on-going program to improve internal processes. Manage client relationships and ensure timely delivery of products and services. Ensuring a high level of Client Service with the ability to maintain good working relationships internally. Motivating and managing available resources with the intention of meeting agreed project deadlines. Provide written and verbal updates on a regular basis to key stake holders and upper management Provide/negotiate project plans and statements of work. Track Milestone achievements and ensure time collection of client invoices. Dispute resolution with the client and involve right stakeholders.   Qualifications and Requirements   Education Bachelor’s degree in computer science or information Technology Prince 2/PMI/PMP certification CPA or CFA or FRM certified or other finance related certification which will help to understand HKMA reporting Languages • English •Cantonese • Mandarin   Work Experience Overall experience greater than 10 years working in banking related Industry with knowledge of a wide range of financial products, and with a minimum of 5+ years working within the Regulatory Reporting domain (MAS or HKMA). Experience working in the product development/delivery department of an independent vendor providing Regulatory Reporting solution to the Banks. (or) Experience of working in the regulatory reporting department of Big Locally Incorporated / International Banks. Experience of working within a virtual team spread across several global locations and time zones   Business Knowledge Basic Requirements (Essential) Extensive banking/finance experience, with a strong background in regulatory reporting, and detailed knowledge of MAS or HKMA Regulatory Reporting requirements for the Banks. Previous experience of the implementation of major regulatory changes working with Vendor solutions. Good understanding of financial reporting (Balance sheet, Exposure reporting, PNL etc., cashflows) and Risk reporting requirements (Basel, Capital Adequacy, Liquidity, Stable Funding etc.) Good Understanding of the Agile Reporter and experience in project management of financial reporting products Good understanding of the Financial Reporting Data Model’s and good enough knowledge to design the regulatory allocation/calculation logic within the product (allocation rules, calculations etc.) Other Requirements (Preferable) Have a good understanding of reporting requirements in other regions in Asia ex: APRA(Australia) etc. Capabilities and other qualities Basic Requirements (Essential) Project Management experience of running multiple client projects. Strong analytical skills & problem-solving skills. Strong presentation and communication skills. Able to grasp difficult or unfamiliar concepts quickly - self-motivated and resourceful at finding ways of filling knowledge gaps. Proactive approach to problem solving, willingness to show initiative and take ownership of issues, and determination and perseverance to follow things through to a successful resolution. Able to use investigative skills to remove ambiguity from the requirements in order to ensure that they can be documented to a baseline state to allow design specification work to proceed. Confidence to be able to constructively challenge the business on requirements as and when appropriate. Excellent inter-personal skills, including the ability to influence and mentor others. Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills Open attitude towards sharing ideas and knowledge (able to mentor less experienced staff and ensure effective knowledge transfer across the team) Attitude – enthusiastic, positive, dynamic, energetic Experience of managing both fixed price and T&M projects Excellent people management, written and verbal communication skills. Strong decision-making and organizational skills, solid experience of analysis and design processes/methodologies and experience of defining and monitoring quality. Excellent client relationship building skills is very important. Candidate must also have the interpersonal skills to interact appropriately during the sales process and when handling client issues, troubleshooting production issues, or responding to queries. Candidate must be flexible and self-motivated with the ability to work independently and take ownership to follow assignments through to resolution. Ability to effectively monitor, solve and close project issues & risks. Strong knowledge of Global Custody operations and systems. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities. Experience with Agile or Waterfall methodology. Understanding of data management principles and data analysis tools. Knowledge of programming languages such as SQL or Python would be an added advantage. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with strong analytical, communication, and problemsolving skills. The Functional Consultant or Senior Business Analyst for Global Custody System must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
