A top private bank is hiring a VP for their financial accounting team. My client is a leading international private banking and wealth management group, is seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to join our team in Hong Kong as a Vice President in the Financial Accounting Department. This role requires a strong background in both HKMA regulatory reporting and financial reporting, and offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to our growing presence in the region. Responsibilities: - Lead and oversee the timely and accurate preparation, review, and submission of regulatory reports to the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) in accordance with regulatory requirements. - Ensure compliance with HKMA guidelines, policies, and procedures by monitoring changes in regulations and implementing necessary updates. - Collaborate with various stakeholders, including Finance, Risk, and Compliance teams, to gather necessary data and information for reporting purposes. - Conduct regular reviews of financial controls and processes to identify areas for improvement and ensure adherence to internal policies and procedures. - Provide guidance and support to junior team members, fostering their professional development and ensuring the overall effectiveness of the team. - Assist in the preparation of financial statements, including monthly, quarterly, and annual reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards. - Participate in ad-hoc projects, system enhancements, and process improvement initiatives to streamline reporting processes and enhance efficiency. Requirements: - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Professional qualifications such as HKICPA, ACCA, or equivalent are highly preferred. - Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in financial control, regulatory reporting, or similar roles within the banking industry. - Strong knowledge and understanding of HKMA regulatory requirements, including knowledge of Banking Ordinance, Banking (Disclosure) Rules, and other relevant guidelines. - Solid understanding of financial reporting principles, accounting standards, and best practices. - Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to review complex financial data and identify discrepancies or errors. - Strong leadership and team management abilities, with a track record of effectively leading and motivating a team. - Proven ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
