DescriptionConduct accounting research, provide recommendations on the application of accounting standards and document the Group's positions with formal technical papers.Review potential investment cases, ensure accounting policies are properly implemented in financial models to facilitate project evaluations. Identify potential accounting issues and propose accounting treatments.Follow up post-transaction implementation with finance teams.Monitor the development of accounting standards and regulatory requirements. Manage the adoption of new accounting standards, including evaluating and assessing the impact on the Group and implementing the new accounting standards across the Group.Propose new accounting policies or updates to existing accounting policies to ensure the accounting policies are up to date with the latest accounting and regulatory guidance.Formulate comment letters to standard setters on proposed accounting standards.Develop and provide trainings to the Group's accounting professionals, build and enhance awareness of new and existing accounting pronouncements and regulatory requirements.
ProfileA degree in Accounting or Finance and a member of HKICPA or other recognised professional accounting bodies.A minimum of 8 years combined experience in Big Four public accounting and/or sizeable public company, technical department experience is a plus.Good understanding of the Hong Kong Companies Ordinance and the Listing Rules; HK and/or International accounting standards and technical know-how.Good interpretation and communication skills, able to explain accounting and reporting issues clearly to teams across regions.Excellent command of writing, conversation and presentation skills both in English and Chinese including Cantonese and Putonghua.Good interpersonal skills and teamwork. Self-motivated, independent, and able to work well under pressure.
