Position Summary
Hex Trust is looking for a Hong Kong based Responsible Officer to oversee and support the next stage of the Company’s growth & expansion; obtaining and maintaining SFC Type 1 (Dealing in Securities) and Type 4 (Advising on Securities) licenses. This position requires a high level of intellectual rigour, a can-do attitude, and a passion for structure and details.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Act as a Responsible Officer (RO), own the SFC Type 1 and 4 license application and maintenance processes, supervise regulated activities.
- Liaise with the Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) and/or other regulatory bodies.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive plan to ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements for the licenses.
- Conduct thorough reviews of the Company's operations, policies, and procedures to ensure alignment with required regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to obtain the necessary information and documentation for the license applications.
- Coordinate and respond to enquiries or requests from the SFC.
- Stay updated on changes in regulatory requirements and industry best practices related to the SFC Type 1 and 4 licensing.
- Provide guidance and advice on licensing matters, ensuring ongoing compliance with regulatory obligations.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with external legal and compliance professionals as necessary.
- Must be a current holder of Type 1 and Type 4 licenses, and have a demonstrable history of license maintenance.
- A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in the financial services industry, with a focus on licensing and regulatory compliance; previous experience as a Responsible Officer is preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of Hong Kong securities and futures regulations, including the SFO and relevant codes and guidelines.
- Familiarity with the digital asset industry and blockchain technology is preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with regulatory bodies, internal stakeholders, and external service providers.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- A proactive and results-oriented mindset, with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
