About the Role
With specific focus on business units under the Regional Chief Executive (RCE)’s purview, the incumbent is responsible to support the RCE in reviewing the business strategy and plans to ensure the business plan is in line with Group strategy. Serves as a business partner to the RCE and plays a key role in supporting and partnering the local business units under the RCE’s jurisdiction.
- Responsible for reviewing the business strategy/plan of business units under the RCE’s purview and ensuring that the strategy and plans are in line with Group Strategy.
- Review business and financial results of the countries on monthly basis
- Supporting the RCE through leading the business planning process and consolidating business plans of the local business unites under purview.
- Responsible for reviewing the spend beyond the CEO’s limits of the business units under the RCE’s purview and making the appropriate recommendations.
- Working closely with all Functional Heads at Group level to address/resolve issues for the business units under the RCE’s jurisdiction.
- Supporting the RCE in the preparation of required reporting expected at the Group Exco and responsible for the consolidation of the performance of business units required at Group level.
- Participate in the annual budget process. Review the business plans of the local business units and drive the periodic business review of the financial performance. Develop and implement analytical tools for the periodical review of the financial performance of business units under the RCE’s purview.
- Participate in Group projects and partner business units in key projects
- Achievement of target financial results by country – VONB, OPAT, UFSG, expense ratio
- Ensure the long-term sustainability of the performance of the business
- Feasibility and Execution of recommendations.
- Ensures that financial figures are developed and presented consistent with Group business strategy
Minimum Job Requirements
- At least 10 years of all-round business planning experience with the last 5 years in financial sector.
- Candidates with less experience will be considered for Associate Director level
- Has worked in insurance environment.
- Preferably with MNCs.
- Effective communication and presentation skills.
- Strong influencing skills.
- High energy level and proactive.
- Analytical and result-driven.
