A unique opportunity exists to become part of our Life & Health actuarial reserving team dedicated to ensuring the Life & Health business holds sufficient and prudent reserves in line with regulatory requirements and actuarial guidance while delivering key financial reporting requirements on a timely basis.

Work will include:

·       Support the delivery of all internal and external (including regulatory) reporting covering monthly, quarterly, and annual requirements.

 

·       Support the development of the L&H actuarial models and policy model points covering all key reporting bases (including HK Statutory, IFRS 4, IFRS 17 and HK RBC).

 

·       Perform data analysis, experience studies and other actuarial analysis in respect of proposed methodology & assumption changes.

 

·       Ad-hoc support – you will provide support across other analytical areas including Asset and Liability monitoring, data analysis, process improvement and automation of data flows, etc.

We are looking for highly motivated individuals pursuing a degree in actuarial science, data science, data engineering, statistics, or other numerate discipline.

Candidates should have the following qualities:

·       Strong analytical and problem-solving ability 

·       Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English

·       Interest in the insurance/reinsurance industry

·       Articulate, flexible in working to deadlines, adapt at working with process and the ability to communicate findings

·       Experience in data manipulation using MS Excel, MS Access or SQL

·       Experience with programming in Python, VBA, C++ or SQL is a plus 

·       Experience in Actuarial Software (RiskAgility Financial Modeller, Prophet) is a plus 

·       Actuarial exam is a plus, but not a must

About the Role We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our Group Internal Audit (GIA) team as an Information Technology Audit Intern. This internship provides an excellent opportunity to gain practical work experience in the field of Internal Audit while supporting the development of audit management tools and reports, planning, monitoring, and assisting with delivery of the audit plan. The intern will work closely with members of GIA and contribute to the overall success of the company. Roles and Responsibilities: Assist in the development of audit management tools and reports:Collaborate with the GIA team to identify user and technical requirements.Assist in the development and implementation of tools and reports supporting the day-to-day Internal Audit operations.Suggest improvements and upgrades to the established tools and reports to enhance effectiveness and efficiency.Support ongoing planning and monitoring of the audit plan:Review and confirm alignment of audit deliverables with the GIA annual audit plan.Help track and monitor the progress of audits to ensure adherence to timelines.Contribute to the identification of potential risks or inconsistencies.Assist in generating reports and analyzing audit data.As the need arises, assist with delivery on aspects of the audit plan:Under close supervision, gain exposure to and participate in audit engagements including audit fieldwork.Assist in analyzing audit findings and preparing draft reports.Support GIA activities as the need arises.Minimum Job Requirements:University graduate or undergraduateGood command of EnglishOrganized and possess solid analytical skills with strong attention to details.Solid knowledge of at least one of the following programming languages: VBA, Python, PowerShell, C#Demonstrate the ability to problem solve and work independently.Able to collaborate with senior staff, raise issues and ask questionsProficient in Microsoft Office, MS AccessThis internship is part-time, requiring a commitment of 3 days per week.
