About the Role
Support the Head, Corporate Compliance
• to ensure that AIAHK and Macau operates in accordance with the AIA Group policies and guidelines and local regulatory requirements in AML, Economics Sanctions & Anti-corruption and towards this end, driving and supervising implementation of compliance framework in these areas.

Roles and Responsibilities:
Effective implementation of AML and Economic Sanctions compliance program
- To implement AML and Economic Sanctions Guidelines and programs, including but not limited to embedding compliance requirement in day-to-day operations of business.
- To develop and implement a risk-based assurance and monitoring program to ensure the compliance of the respective AML requirement.
- To implement the group-wide monitoring system on AML and Economic Sanctions in accordance with Group Compliance direction.
- To enhance compliance monitoring programs and investigation in relation AML requirements.
- To work with respective business collaborators effectively implementing AML source of wealth assessment.
- Training and communication of compliance policies and procedures.
- Support and coordinate with regulators on their regulatory inspection visits on AML Compliance.
- Effective compliance program assessment per agreed metrics by Group Compliance.
- Initiate proactive gap analyses and gap closure projects under AML and Economic Sanctions Programs.
- Maintain consistent local compliance policies and procedures which are aligned with Group Compliance policies and guidelines.
- Implement a risk based local assurance and monitoring programme which is expressly designed to assess compliance with AIA Group as well as local regulatory standards.
- To facilitate and support the development of AML and Economic Sanctions establishment under Target Operating Model.
- To be appointed as Deputy Money Laundering Reporting Officer for the company and conduct all vital duties as required.
Build a robust and well controlled AML system to ensure it performs as expected
- To embed AML System alerts and controls into Compliance and first lines daily operational process.
- Ongoing review the performance of AML System to align with the latest business and system development. Ensure key system functionality on AML system are continuously improved and any identified deficiency are timely resolved.
Effective implementation of compliance policies and related procedures to address key compliance risks of Anti-Corruption
- Liaise with respective affected departments to implement action plan to remediate the gap identified. To supervise the implementation status of remediation action plans to ensure risks are adequately addressed.
- To implement compliance program in accordance of the agreed compliance plan.
- Effective management of compliance incidents including performing investigation, reporting and escalation and the monitoring of the implementation of remedial actions.
- Training and communication of compliance policies and procedures.
- Effective compliance program assessment per agreed metrics by Group Compliance. Quality and clarity of issues and risk reporting.
- Maintain consistent local compliance policies and procedures which are aligned with Group Compliance policies and guidelines.
- Implement a risk based local assurance and monitoring programme which is expressly designed to assess compliance with AIA Group as well as local regulatory standards.
Engagement with Business Units collaborators to ensure compliance risk is embedded into business decision
- Coordinate AML Committee (including first line and second line people) with regular meeting as an engagement platform to discuss various tasks and improvements in company AML program.
- Enhance engagement with business units to provide advice and solutions to lead compliance and regulatory risks in areas acting as SME in order to support quality business growth. Maintains relationships with a network of diverse contacts.
- Raises awareness of the business units concerning the three-line of defense risk management model.

Minimum Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Technology, Law or Business or equivalent with a minimum of 6 years proven working experience in the financial services industry focused on compliance, risk management, legal and/ or internal controls.
- Professional qualification in life insurance, Compliance, Internal Audit, IT Audit or related disciplines is preferred.
- In-depth understanding of the Insurance business is preferred.
- Have hands-on experience to data analytics and data extraction tools.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills and self-motivated.
- Good written and spoken communication skills in English and Chinese.
- Independent and be able to work under pressure.
- Be organized, meticulous with good problem solving skills.
- High level of integrity and take ownership and accountability of results.
