Kody, a fast-growing Fintech specialising in bringing online payments and better financial services to brick and mortar businesses, is seeking a frontend web Angular Developer to join their dynamic team.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to develop and maintain various web desktop and web mobile applications. These will be used by our customers to manage their business, and as well for the end consumer to place their online orders and payments. We are actively expanding more in the financial services and data analytics, creating new products that will be very exciting and unique to work on. It requires a deep expertise in TypeScript and Angular and familiarity with everything about web development.

The ideal candidate does not have to be very experienced in all of these technologies or many live projects, because we can provide mentoring and coaching, but you will have strong problem-solving skills, be a team player, and be proactive in their approach to achieving company goals.

The Role

Developing and maintaining the company's web and mobile fintech applications using Angular, Typescript, Ionic, and other frontend technologies. Collaborating with cross-functional teams such as product managers, designers, and backend developers. Participating in code reviews and ensuring that all code is maintainable, scalable, and secure.

Responsibilities

• Build responsive, performant and reusable UI components
• Collaborate with Design and Product teams to make sure we're working on the most impactful set of features
• Write automated tests (both unit and end to end)
• Assist with bug fixing and performance enhancements across the multiple products
• Stay up-to-date with the latest developments and trends in the tech industry
• Contribute to the design and architecture of the applications
• Participate in code and design reviews

• Good experience with Angular and TypeScript
• A thorough understanding of HTML, CSS and JavaScript
• Knowledge of API's and communicating with external or backend services
• Understanding of unit testing
• The ability to debug coding issues
• A keen eye for detail with regards to design and UX
• Experience with version control systems (we use GitHub)

The location of this job is in Hong Kong. The role will be hybrid, but we will expect you top come to our office a few times a week.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to develop and maintain various software components of Kody's platform, from the mobile point of sale, payment terminal card readers, ecommerce payment gateway, and many other products in the financial services. It requires a deep expertise in Kotlin and Java and familiarity with cloud development using containerisation frameworks.

The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills, be a team player, and be proactive in their approach to achieving company goals.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain software components of Kody's platform
• Debug and troubleshoot system issues and provide support as necessary
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to the team's development process
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify areas for improvement in software development processes
• Keep up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in the Kotlin/Java development space

• At least 5 years of experience in backend Kotlin/Java software development
• Familiarity with SQL databases such as Postgres (ideally) or MySQL
• Good understanding of APIs: REST or gRPC (this one ideally since we moved all of our services to gRPC)
• Strong familiarity with Git version control (we use GitHub)
• Experience with cloud computing and deployment with CI/CD (we use GitHub Actions)
• Experience working with unit testing frameworks
• Knowledge of agile development practices and methodologies
• Fluent in English
