Fund Performance Analysis

• Conduct quantitative fund analysis to dissect the feature and performance of competitors’ fund products.
• Conduct multi-dimensional fund comparison between AIMHK’s funds and competing funds.
• Work with Group Investment’s Middle Office, AIMHK’s investment teams and AIAHK’s stakeholders to prepare regular and ad hoc fund performance related reports.

Portfolio Modelling & Simulation

• Conduct portfolio modelling, simulation and back-testing to validate and support new product ideas.
• Propose optimal asset and/or regional allocation mix for new fund products based on in-depth quantitative analysis and simulation.

Fund Ranking Modelling

• Manage and maintain an in-house developed Visual Basic fund ranking model.
• Run the fund ranking model on a regular basis and report the ranking results to AIAHK’s ILP team as part of AIMHK’s Type 4 advisory services.

Model Portfolios For ILAS/PLP Customers

• Assist AIAHK’s ILP team with the development and ongoing monitoring of model portfolios for ILAS/PLP customers.
• Conduct in-depth fund style and scenario analysis on funds on AIAHK’s ILAS platform to enhance the performance of model portfolios.

Ad hoc Quantitative Analysis

• Provide ad hoc quantitative analysis on investment fund markets.

Stakeholder Management

About the Role

Roles and Responsibilities:

Investment Strategy:

• Build and maintain quantitative models to identify investment opportunity and forecast investment trends.
• Conduct macro investment research and formulate tactical asset allocation strategies and tactics for multi-asset products.

Fund-of-funds Portfolio Management

• Daily portfolio management across fund-of-funds portfolios on AIAHK’s MPF, ORSO and ILAS platforms.
• Deliver outperformance against benchmark and peer group median
• Ensure portfolios are in compliance with relevant regulations and internal guidelines.
• Monitor HKD exposure and manage FX hedge across portfolios.
• Assist trade execution on fund-of-funds portfolios, post-trading and portfolio monitoring.
• Provide monthly portfolio commentaries

Funds Monitoring and Evaluation:

Conduct quantitative and qualitative fund evaluation to:

• Identify and select well-performing funds for AIMHK managed multi-manager products to enhance investment performance.
• Select and recommend best-in-class funds for AIAHK’s MPF, ORSO and ILAS products.
• Assess ESG metrics of the funds  

Support Product Development

• Identify appropriate investment opportunities according to the investment policy and objectives.
• Conduct fund manager search to support new product
• Liaise with fund managers to develop new funds

Stakeholder Management:

• Establish good rapport with stakeholders within AIA Group, including AIAHK (e.g. ILAS & MPF teams), Group Investment (e.g. TAA & External Managers teams) and AIAIM in Singapore. 
• Provide investment & fund related supports to the investment, MPF and ILAS teams of AIAHK. 

Ad Hoc Projects:

• Enhance existing investment operational flow and controls
• Enhance hedging arrangement

Minimum Job Requirements:

• Experience in managing public funds for reputation financial institutions.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in investment research, quantitative finance and/or asset management. Candidates with more years of experience will be considered as Associate Director level.
• Postgraduate qualification in Finance, Economics or quantitative-related subjects.
• Investment-related professional qualification (e.g. CFA, FRM or CAIA).
• Holders of SFC license 1, 4 or 9.
• In-depth understanding of market dynamics of major asset classes, including equities, bonds and currencies.
• Ability to quantitatively/qualitatively translate economic situation, financial market development, asset valuation and price momentum into investment strategies & recommendations.
• Knowledge of retail financial markets and wealth management products.
• Strong presentation and report-writing skills.
• Good team player with strong coordination and project management skills to work with colleagues from various cultural background and different departments.

Others:

• You are preferred to obtain the license of Securities and Futures Commission (SFC)  (Paper 1) or any licenses if your job involves regulated activities

About the Role

• Develop, manage and strengthen the overall relationship with some of AIA’s key vendors to enhance value to AIA over and above existing contractual commitments. 
• Drive increased levels of performance from key vendors
• Identify and lead continuous performance improvements with demonstrable business and/or financial value and benefits.
• Develop and lead the implementation of service improvement plans.
• Encourage and drive innovation opportunities which will create incremental business value – e.g. cost reduction, income generation.
• Reduce risk exposure through issue resolution and proactive identification/mitigation of risks.
• Accountability for developing and managing formal Governance structures and meetings including escalation processes.
• Develop vendor performance reporting (e.g. dashboards) to share with key stakeholders.
• Development of measurement mechanisms and communication plans to demonstrate the value add of the role.
• Roll out of best practice methodology to AIA country Technology teams where needed.
• Identification and leadership of cost reduction opportunities where they may exist.
