Prenetics is looking for a highly motivated bioinformatics scientist to lead our bioinformatics team. In this role you will be responsible for leading the bioinformatics team and analyzing NGS data. You will also be responsible for supporting the clinical team to manage the queries. You will independently and proactively identify process issues and recommend solutions given critical timelines. This work is interdisciplinary and involves collaboration with lab scientists, R&D scientists and the bioinformatics team. You will have ample opportunity to significantly contribute to the development of our evolving technologies. You will report to the Chief Clinical Officer.

Key Responsibilities

• Pipeline Development and Optimization:
• Develop, test, and refine bioinformatics pipelines to ensure scalability, accuracy, and efficiency in analyzing Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) data.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to deploy, automate, and maintain bioinformatics workflows in cloud and on-premises environments.
• Lead Bioinformatics Team:
• Lead the team of bioinformatics scientists and monitor their R&D progress.
• Interact with stakeholders, such as Chief Clinical Officer, Chief Scientific Officers and Senior Research Scientist, to transform the company level R&D and production bioinformatics requirements into day-to-day operations by working with bioinformatics team members.
• Collaboration and Support:
• Work closely with genomic scientists, clinical researchers, and software engineers to design and implement novel bioinformatics solutions tailored to product development and research needs.
• Provide comprehensive bioinformatics support to existing R&D projects, including troubleshooting, upgrades, and performance optimizations.
• Data Management and Analysis:
• Build, curate, and maintain robust genotype and phenotype databases to enable large-scale data analysis.
• Conduct statistical analysis and modeling using modern bioinformatics tools to extract meaningful insights from NGS data.
• Innovation and Continuous Improvement:
• Proactively identify process improvements and implement innovative solutions to enhance efficiency and data quality.
• Stay updated on emerging bioinformatics methodologies, tools, and best practices to maintain a competitive edge.
• Lead R&D Projects
• Lead the company’s bioinformatics related R&D projects involving new technologies such as microbiome, epigenetic, development of new genomic panels and so on.

• Required: MSc in computer science, bioinformatics, information systems or related field with at least 5 years’ experience working in the industry is preferred. 
• Required: 3+ years of experience with a variety of NGS bioinformatics tools - GATK, samtools, bwa, etc.
• Required: Strong experience in analyzing NGS data.
• Required: Strong experience and detailed understanding of the statistical and algorithmic workings of modern variant calling packages.
• Preferred: Experience using statistical computer language (R, Python, SQL, etc) to manipulate NGS data and draw insights.
• Preferred: Hands-on experience with databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL).
• A drive to learn and master new technologies and techniques.

• Ensure accurate setup and tracking of conversions for optimization purposes.
• Establish best practices for tracking to measure performance and accurately report attribution.
• Evaluate and report on campaign performance, measuring against objectives like CPA, ROAS, and other key performance indicators.
• Plan and oversee the media buying budget, effectively updating and monitoring expenses.
• Leverage Google Analytics to examine ad and website performance, pinpointing successes and opportunities for enhancement through data insights.
• Work collaboratively with both internal teams and external partners to create high-quality campaign assets.
• Demonstrate outstanding attention to detail, ensuring account cleanliness and compliance with advertising policy guidelines.
• Experience in the medical, health, and wellness sectors is a bonus.
• Knowledge of SEO practices is advantageous.

We are looking for someone with:

• At least 3-5 years of experience in performance marketing sector.
• A demonstrated history of creating successful Google Ads campaigns.
• Strong expertise in keyword research, audience targeting, and competitor analysis.
• Proficient in setting up, managing, and optimizing Google Ads campaigns across a variety of platforms.
• Knowledgeable in remarketing strategies and techniques for conversion optimization.
• Skilled in using Google Analytics to drive insights and refine marketing strategies.
• Excellent communication skills paired with a collaborative spirit.
• Capable of effectively managing budgets and achieving results through data-informed decisions.
