We are seeking an exceptional Senior Scientific Officer & Head of R&D to lead our Research and Development department. The ideal candidate will be a visionary leader with a strong scientific background, a passion for innovation, and a proven track record of successfully managing and executing research projects. As the Head of R&D, you will be responsible for setting the strategic direction of our research efforts, overseeing project planning and execution, and fostering a culture of scientific excellence.
Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic leadership and vision for the Research and Development department, aligning research goals with the overall company mission and objectives.
- Lead and manage a team of scientists, researchers, and technical staff, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
- Develop and execute the R&D strategy, including the identification of key research areas, project prioritization, resource allocation, and timelines.
- Stay abreast of the latest scientific advancements, emerging technologies, and industry trends to guide research priorities and opportunities.
- Foster a culture of scientific excellence, promoting best practices, knowledge sharing, and continuous learning within the R&D team.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Marketing, Product Development, and Regulatory Affairs, to ensure alignment and successful commercialization of research outcomes.
- Oversee the planning, design, and execution of research projects, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
- Drive the development and implementation of robust scientific methodologies, experimental protocols, and data analysis techniques.
- Establish and maintain strategic collaborations with external partners, academic institutions, and research organizations to leverage expertise and resources.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, ethical standards, and safety protocols throughout the R&D activities.
- Ph.D. in a scientific discipline related to the industry/sector (e.g., Chemistry, Biology, Engineering, etc.). Post-doctoral experience is preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in scientific research and development, with a proven track record of leading successful R&D initiatives.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team of scientists and researchers.
- Excellent knowledge of scientific methodologies, experimental design, and data analysis techniques.
- Demonstrated expertise in the development and application of innovative technologies and solutions.
- Proven ability to translate scientific research into commercial applications and products.
- Strong project management skills, including the ability to prioritize, plan, and execute multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex scientific concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience in building and managing collaborations with external partners, such as academic institutions, research organizations, and industry experts.
