Assistant Visual Merchandising Manager

What the job does:

We are looking for a self-driven, passionate superstar to join Team Tilbury as our Assistant Visual Merchandising Manager.  You will be involved in all aspects of visual merchandising and project manage – from design to approvals to suppliers’ recruitment to technical drawings development to production and installation. You will be part of a growing Store Design and VM team responsible for all Hong Kong and Macau and Travel Retail. You will thrive on the challenge of a fast-paced environment, and you will be able to use your previous visual merchandising or any similar project experience as a either in house or at an advertising agency to make great effect in our team. In your role, you will report to our Store Design and Visual Merchandising Manager and work cross functionally within local team and the Global teams.

Key Responsibility

  • Report to line Manager, the caliber manages the conception and implementation of the global Charlotte Tilbury strategy as we grow in Asia.
  • Consolidate all market VM calendar, attend regular meetings with global team, marketing, and commercial teams to get campaigns strategies and directions on budget, product launches & promotions.
  • Support the SDVM Manager in preparing & launching new campaign, including in-store display ordering, videos, visuals, animation, planogram for HKMO and TR stores.
  • In-charge of planogram updates for all store in line with global VM guideline, follow up through artwork, production, and quality check.
  • Assist in design and production of animation roll out including pop up stores, window, outposts.
  • Create plate artwork to fulfil individual market product assortments and launch dates.
  • Follow up on HKMO specific content assets: Asian models in visuals & videos.
  • Control quality and follow through the in-store and windows projects. Coordinate with relevant parties including but not limited to contractors and consultants to ensure the quality of local productions comply with global standard. Attend on-site meetings and installation.
  • Create Store opening VM Guidelines for new stores alongside the retail and SD team.
  • Conduct regular store visit to maintain store excellence
  • Deliver VM training to retail team related to VM standard to ensure a compelling customer experience.
  • Assist SDVM Manager on budgeting and forecasting. Raise Pos, follow up on invoices and control expenditure of any orders placed for individual projects.
  • Be alert of market trends and best practices. Provide research to the team and global.

Some attributes we are looking for

  • Degree holder in art and design discipline with minimum 5 years working hands-on experience gained in the fields of visual merchandising/ retail design industry/ product design/event or pop-up design/ graphic design or a combination of above. Previous work experience in cosmetics industry will be a plus.
  • Experience with a range of design packages; preferably with knowledge of Adobe Suite, Sketch up, AutoCad and other design softwares.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment and contribute ideas whilst being self-motivated and able to work independently.
  • Be Positive, flexible and extremely well organised, have the skills and personality to thrive in a rapid environment and meet challenging deadlines. Also will be able to respond quickly and effectively to changing priorities.
  • High attention to detail and project management. Must be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously with short and long lead times to meet deadlines. Ability to juggle different pressing priorities with ease.
  • Experience working with vendors and understanding of fabrication and production processes.
  • Ability to balance design, with operational needs and budget objectives resulting in exceptional designs and an improved customer experience.
  • Understand the importance of aesthetic quality, detail and the perfect choice of colours, materials, concepts and brand identity.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to work across different teams at multiple levels.
  • Proficient in spoken English and Chinese (Mandarin and Cantonese).
