About the role

We are looking for a dynamic and detail-oriented Associate, Credit Underwriting to join us as part of the winning team in an exciting journey. This role reports to the Associate Director, Credit and you will play a pivotal role in assessing credit risks associated with new and existing clients in these specialized sectors.

What you need to do

• Analyze and underwrite the credit for e-commerce and international trade clients.
• Develop and enhance credit underwriting procedures tailored to the unique characteristics of these industries.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to facilitate project development and data analysis.
• Implement fraud prevention measures to safeguard the credit quality of trade finance projects.
• Contribute to risk framework formulation, credit policy review, and risk model enhancements.
• Manage portfolio risks effectively, including early warning mechanisms and debt collection strategies.
• Support automation initiatives for streamlining credit underwriting processes.
• Handle ad-hoc tasks and assist in daily operations as needed.

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Banking, Risk Management, or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of credit analysis experience in the banking or finance sector.
• Proficiency in Trade Finance with a background in the e-Commerce industry will be an advantage
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Self-motivated, results-driven, and capable of working in a fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrated ability to multitask, pay attention to detail, and think creatively.
• Fluent in both spoken and written English and Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin a plus).

- Handle insurance claims for different lines of business (e.g. Property & Casualty, CAR, construction EC, Marine, etc.)

- Ensure proper reserving, adjustment and settlement of all claims

- Resolve enquiries from customers, colleagues and business partners

- Work closely with all parties, i.e. loss adjuster and/or solicitor, etc. on daily operations to ensure delivery of quality and professional claims services to the stakeholders

- Other ad hoc support to the team

Must-have

 - Hands-on experience in property & casualty claims handling

 - Knowledgeable in different classes of claims in general insurance

 - Proficient in MS Office, esp. Excel

Good-to-have

 - Passed IIQE Paper 1 & 2 or holder of ANZIIF (Senior Associate) or equivalent

 - A good team player with strong communication and analytical skills

 - Attentive to details and customer-oriented

 - Working location: Quarry Bay

 - Working days: 5 days per week

 - Fixed Working hours: - Mon to Fri: 9 am to 5:30 pm

 - Work from home arrangements:  1 to 2 days per week subject to seasonality

About the Role

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Be a key contributor of the team to support various investment fund projects and initiatives for Unit-Linked and pension business

• Prepare various reports, sales support materials and marketing materials, covering areas of fund performance, fund monitoring, corporate actions, fund investment related projects & events, etc.

• Prepare regular investment market update write-up for various sales channels and customers

• Assist in fund selection, review and monitoring and due diligence tasks

• Assist in launch of investment related marketing events & campaigns

• Prepare materials for management presentations and regulatory meetings

• Support the team administrative works

Minimum Job Requirements:

• University graduate in Business, Finance and/or related discipline are preferred

• 1 to 3 years of experience in Financial Institutions

• Demonstrate accountability and initiative at work

• Possesses the ability to work flexibly with internal and external stakeholders to deliver team objective timely

• Passed the paper 1,3,5 of the Insurance Intermediaries Qualifying Examination (“IIQE”) and/or MPF Intermediaries examination is preferred

• Good command of Microsoft knowledge, especially in Excel and PowerPoint

• Fluent in Cantonese & spoken English and written Chinese & English
