JOB SUMMARY

We’re currently seeking a motivated Trading Intern for the Markets business. You will play a critical role in both the operational and strategic facets of our trading operations. This internship is designed to immerse you into the fast-paced world of cryptocurrency trading, focusing not only on trade execution and strategy development but also on significant contributions to ongoing technological projects and operational enhancements.

In this role, you will be expected to leverage your strong background in computer science or quantitative finance to assist in refining our strategies and enhancing our trading infrastructure. Your contributions will directly impact our efficiency and capability to execute high-volume trades for our clients with precision and minimal market impact. Additionally, you will help implement operational improvements, ensuring that our trading processes are both robust and scalable.

This position is ideal for candidates who are not only passionate about the financial markets and cryptocurrencies but also keen to apply their programming and analytical skills to solve real-world problems and optimize trading operations. You will work closely with both our technology and trading teams to drive innovations and improve our service delivery in the dynamic crypto market.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Strategy Development: Support the development and implementation of both client-focused and proprietary trading strategies.
• Coding and System Optimization: Write and optimize high-quality code to improve our trading and operational platforms, enhancing efficiency and responsiveness.
• Data Analysis: Conduct detailed market and trade data analysis to identify trends, forecast market movements, and provide insights for strategy refinement.
• Client Interaction: Occasionally interact with clients to understand their needs and help provide tailored trading solutions.
• Market Research: Stay informed about market conditions, regulatory changes, and technological advancements in the cryptocurrency space, and write regular market updates for distribution to our clients

• Education: Currently pursuing or recently graduated with a degree in Computer Science, Quantitative Finance, Mathematics, or a related field.
• Programming Skills: Proficient in Python, Rust, or C++. Experience with financial modeling or algorithmic development is highly valued.
• Analytical Skills: Strong quantitative analysis skills with the ability to interpret complex market data.
• Knowledge of Financial Markets: Understanding of financial markets and instruments, with a specific interest in cryptocurrencies and trading.
• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to synthesize complex information and ideas into digestible written form
• Problem-Solving: Ability to solve problems creatively and efficiently under pressure.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Engage in the complete design cycle, from research and ideation to execution
• Collaborate with various teams and report to the Marketing Manager
• Adhere to our brand guidelines while designing sales & marketing materials
• Create designs across diverse media based on creative briefings
• Juggle between teams and projects, adapting to varying specifications
• Familiarize with the business needs and design accordingly

• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite
• Exceptional organizational and communication skills
• Strong grasp of design fundamentals, layout, and typography
• Openness to constructive criticism and feedback
• Ability to work independently and lead when necessary
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
• Knowledge of design tools including Photoshop, After Effects, and Illustrator

We are now inviting ambitious candidates to join our Wealth team for a 6 - 12-month full-time internship (the duration of the internship can be adjusted through mutual discussion and agreement).  Successful candidates will have the opportunity to understand and support our growing wealth team, based in Hong Kong. Candidate with Immediate availability is highly preferred.

POSITION SCOPE

We will count on you to:

• Assist in delivering investment and retirement advisory services for Korea institutional investors and corporate clients
• Perform actuarial valuation in accordance with IAS19 and USGAAP, as well as involve in investment monitoring process for pension plans
• Conduct research of business service offerings/ products and market trends, as well as analytical and reporting duties, under guidance of experienced associates. 
• Support client projects (retirement and investment) and delivery processes including business development, project delivery, documentation and reporting.

Assist with translation and provide support to senior Korean colleagues in project delivery while handling Korean language requirements. What you need to have: 

• Undergraduate in Economics, Finance/ Actuarial Science, Engineering, Mathematics and any other numerate degrees.
• Strong self-initiative and curiosity in financial services, self-motivated to seek out knowledge, test ideas and ways to contribute to the team.
• Ability to build relationships by communicating, influencing and negotiating effectively with team members.
• Motivated to deliver good quality work and high learning agility.  Strong personal management to be able to handle variety of tasks, with diverse objectives and team members.
• Good capabilities of Microsoft Office suite.  Strong Excel skills, basic VBA will be a plus.
• Fluency in Korean and English, Cantonese and/ or Mandarin will be a plus.

Availability

Applicants are expected to be available for a period of 6 - 12 months on a full time basis (Monday to Friday).  The duration of the internship can be adjusted through mutual discussion and agreement). Immediate availability is highly preferred.
