The Sales team

The sales team has been supporting the major corporations and institutions for many years, covering most top players in Banking, Consulting and the FMCG industry. It provides marketing solutions for major companies in both consumer and industrial sectors.

The position

The Business Development Executive’s primary role is to generate new business revenue and maximise sales revenues from both existing and new clients.  Initially this role will involve as well as cold calling, emailing, on-line demonstration of Euromonitor’s Passport Database, customised research discussions and face-to-face meetings with companies in your own area of responsibility.  We practice consultative selling techniques which require both in-depth understanding of our complex products and an ability to gain a clear understanding of what an individual client’s needs are.

Key Responsibilities

• Prospecting and networking to grow target list within territory by identifying and contacting new companies within your portfolio
• Bringing in new business for the Company through telephone calls, mail/e-mail and face-to-face meetings with potential clients. Following up leads from all sources
• Identifying and acting on opportunities for revenue growth: generating leads and cold calling as necessary
• Undertaking company research
• Conceptualising and implementing marketing activities for the department
• Working closely with the research team and sales team in other Euromonitor offices
• Providing research support; consulting and advice to clients in your territory

We are looking for a sales – orientated and driven person, ideally from within an on-line information marketplace with at least 2 years’ experience of selling in publishing, media, on-line information or consulting.

• Lead the team to participate in the ITF project and post-ITF project on novel traditional Chinese Medicines development.
• Participate in searching literature, sourcing for new equipment and writing proposals for funding.
• Perform experiments in the development process with various proposed formulation techniques.
• Perform formulation characterization such as moisture content, particle size analysis, microscopic observation, content assay and dissolution experiment.
• Responsible for the operation and maintenance of R&D machinery, equipment and analytical instruments in the laboratory.

• Bachelor, Master or above in Chinese Medicines, Chemistry, Pharmacy, Pharmacology, Biochemistry, Biomedical Science, Material Science, Food and Nutritional Science, Chemical Engineering or relevant discipline.
• Experience in leading a group of research staff to execute research projects. Experience in TCM research is highly preferred.
• Good background in cell assay and animal test for the post-ITF project development.
• Background knowledge in the treatment method of traditional Chinese Medicines is a plus.
• Possess a can-do attitude, positive mind-set, team spirit and strong problem solving skills.
