We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Manager for the Greater China region. This role is pivotal in driving our revenue initiatives, managing market-specific strategies, and expanding our presence in Hong Kong, Mainland China, and surrounding areas. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in technology, a deep understanding of the Greater China market, and a proven track record in business development and revenue generation.

Key Responsibilities: 

• Revenue Generation: Perform business development work for the Greater China region.
• Market Strategy: Develop and execute geo-specific strategies to grow our market presence in Hong Kong and Mainland China.
• Partnership Management: Build and nurture relationships with key partners, including distributors, affiliates, influencers, marketing and ads agencies, system integrators, and e-commerce platforms third-party partners. Leverage partnerships to drive distribution and branding efforts via joint-GTM activities such as events. 
• Strategic Partnership Management: In addition to developing relationships with distribution partners, you will also support nurturing the relationships with the company's strategic partners. 
• Experimentation: Run fast, low-cost experiments to test market fit and optimize our go-to-market strategies. Implement viral campaigns, sponsor events, and conduct hyper-local activities to boost brand awareness and customer acquisition.
• Customer Engagement: Work closely with existing customers to understand their needs, gather feedback, and improve customer satisfaction. Ensure the successful onboarding and support of new customers.
• Team Collaboration: Coordinate with internal teams, including marketing, product, and customer support, to align on goals and resources. Assist in recruiting and training new team members as needed.

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field. 
• 5+ years of experience in business development, sales, or a related role in the SaaS/tech industry.
• Proven track record of meeting or exceeding revenue targets and sales quotas.
• Deep understanding of the Greater China market and experience working in or with Hong Kong and Mainland China.
• Strong networking and relationship-building skills.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in Cantonese, Mandarin, and English.

Brief overview of the role

The Sales team

The sales team has been supporting the major corporations and institutions for many years, covering most top players in Banking, Consulting and the FMCG industry. It provides marketing solutions for major companies in both consumer and industrial sectors.

The position

The Business Development Executive’s primary role is to generate new business revenue and maximise sales revenues from both existing and new clients.  Initially this role will involve as well as cold calling, emailing, on-line demonstration of Euromonitor’s Passport Database, customised research discussions and face-to-face meetings with companies in your own area of responsibility.  We practice consultative selling techniques which require both in-depth understanding of our complex products and an ability to gain a clear understanding of what an individual client’s needs are.

Key Responsibilities

• Prospecting and networking to grow target list within territory by identifying and contacting new companies within your portfolio
• Bringing in new business for the Company through telephone calls, mail/e-mail and face-to-face meetings with potential clients. Following up leads from all sources
• Identifying and acting on opportunities for revenue growth: generating leads and cold calling as necessary
• Undertaking company research
• Conceptualising and implementing marketing activities for the department
• Working closely with the research team and sales team in other Euromonitor offices
• Providing research support; consulting and advice to clients in your territory

We are looking for a sales – orientated and driven person, ideally from within an on-line information marketplace with at least 2 years’ experience of selling in publishing, media, on-line information or consulting.

What you need to do

• Assist project manager in reviewing, monitoring, and implementing projects; and keep all parties accountable for deliverables to ensure timely project execution
• Communicate with different stakeholders to update necessary information and ensure the same understanding is achieved and aligned
• Analyse business and user requirements, propose solutions and create design specifications
• Coordinate project schedules, manage project meetings and identify technical problems
• Prepare test plan, organise and conduct UAT

• Degree or Diploma in Information Technology or other Business Management related disciplines
• Ideally 2-3 years of experience.
• Proven communication and organisational skills are required
• Strong analytical, negotiation, problem-solving skills and stakeholder management skills
• Self-motivated, positive, and detailed oriented
• Able to work under pressure with a tight schedule
• Knowledge of SQL would be an advantage
• Good command of spoken and written English and Chinese
