We are looking for an ambitious SEO expert who is ready to lead an exciting proposition expansion. As SEO Director, you will be the functional lead and set to develop and champion advanced strategic SEO projects, while working closely with a portfolio of clients to ensure their effective implementation to achieve growth.

FIND 

• Steer, develop and deliver on the Assembly SEO proposition, and play a central role in service expansion across the APAC region. 
• Refine SEO product offering and establish agency standard for SEO work. 
• Stay curious of your clients’ constant changing business environment, understand the industry and trends to position Assembly’s as valuable business partner. 
• Identify and implement opportunities for quality and efficiency improvement across work processes and resource allocation. 

CHANGE 

• Capable of evaluating project priorities, switch gear and manage workflow for clients and your team to meet deadlines. 
• Actively improve and implement comprehensive SEO strategies to increase organic search visibility, website traffic, and conversions 
• Capable of resolving internal process loopholes and client technical issues in timely manner to ensure campaign runs smoothly. 

GROWTH 

• Lead globally and think locally. Be able to propose strategies to improve local search visibility for clients across the region and across a variety of platforms.  
• Make effective best practice SEO recommendations that fit your clients, provide tangible impact and working in partnership to navigate their change for growth. 
• Hold the vision of growing a high performing SEO team through recruiting, reviews, active mentoring, coaching and training. 

DOES THIS SOUND LIKE YOU? 

• Proven experience as an SEO professional, with a focus on strategy and leadership roles, ideally with 8+ years of SEO experience in a digital media agency 
• Share the vision to lead and build a SEO subject matter expert hub in APAC, with eagerness to develop and strengthen our in-market talent 
• Exposure to client verticals such as retail, beauty, luxury, consumer electronics, and banking & finance, insurance, travel 
• Proficiency in SEO tools and analytics platforms, such as Google Analytics, Google Search Console, and SEO keyword research tools such as Screaming Frog, SEMRush, Ahrefs, Searchmetrics and more 
• Understanding of paid media (i.e. PPC/Social/Display) and how SEO plays a connected role 
• Excellent communication and presenting skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and present findings to stakeholders. 
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, draw insights, and make data-driven decisions. 
• Fluent English is required, major plus if fluent in Korean

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING ON ANY GIVEN DAY

• Developing strategies and executing digital marketing campaigns to meet our clients' business goals
• Analysing account performance and providing the proactive improvement strategy
• Developing client and product knowledge by proactively contributing to digital marketing strategies and delivering insights in terms of competitor and environment feedback
• Work closely with our extensive teams in APAC/EU as well as the account team at the HK office to ensure the quality of service across clients
• Lead multichannel strategy, planning, and implementation
• Managing client budgets
• Getting involved in business development, including attending prospective pitches
• Delegating and organising priorities as a Team Lead
• Helping the team retain great relationships with our clients by taking calls, responding to emails, taking part in presentations, and attending face to face meetings

THE SKILLS WE’RE LOOKING FOR

• Minimum 7 years of digital marketing activation experience, preferably in a digital agency, with at least 4 years in people-management role
• Understand all digital channels dynamics with brand / performance marketing experience
• Digital media planning / strategy experience (including PPC, Display and Social) in particular e-Commerce business
• Knowledge in consumer behavior and ability to connect insights with media activation
• Proven track record in managing complex accounts with multiple stakeholders
• Hands on knowledge in Google's Product Suite (Google Ads - Search, Display & Video, CM360, SA360, etc.)
• Demonstrate ability to perform and work in a highly dynamic and rapid changing environment
• Excellent problem-solving skills with internal team and external client
• Ability to articulate yourself concisely, both verbally and with the written work
• Highly developed analytical / numeracy skills to develop solutions on meaningful data
• Fluent in Cantonese, English and Mandarin
• Knowledge of SQL & offline media planning/ buying is a plus

This is a newly-created role, reporting directly into our Hong Kong Market Director, that focuses on delivering world class deliverables to our clients while upskilling and providing guidance to our talents ensuring their growth and reaching their full potential.

Our ideal candidate is an articulate senior talent in the media agency domain with solid experience in integrated marketing channels including both online & offline best practices with branding activation expereince. WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING ON ANY GIVEN DAY

• Create New Opportunities:
• Support Business growth and efficiency
• Delivering client billing and resource in line with targets
• Lead multi-channel strategy and planning, and work alongside channel teams to implement it
• Drive proposals and support in winning new business
• Retain & Build Lasting Relationships:
• Act as a senior client contact and point of escalation. Working to maintain & strengthen excellent client relationships at all levels
• Lead the strategic dialogue with your client, connecting with planners and the activation team to deliver both effective results and innovative solutions
• Ensure excellent delivery of all cross-channel work in a timely manner
• Keep abreast of channel and product updates within the agency, ensuring these are communicated to the client where appropriate
• Ensure Client contractual obligations, service levels and performance are maintained
• Work with the APAC Managing Director and Channel Heads to ensure optimal resource across Clients
• Manage the client P&L for the Hong Kong office, with support from the APAC Managing Director
• Grow Your Clients Business & Ours:
• Recognise opportunities to advance our client engagements and work alongside the Account Managers, Market Directors and Channel Heads to maximise these
• Act as partner for the client, and strive for new and innovative opportunities to drive the client’s business

• Grow Your Team & Collaborate with wider teams across APAC:
• Develop and grow our local team
• Support the development of the team below and around you, providing mentorship, coaching and direction to the office
• Grow each team and their capacity, and improve working methods to increase efficiency
• Be part of the wider community and collaborate with other functions and offices on various projects

• 8 + years in both digital & offline marketing across multiple channels (Paid Search, Social Media, Display/Programmatic, branding)
• Solid agency experience
• Excellent communication and project management skills
• Strong experience in managing teams and development of staff
• Confident client facing ability
• Excel at building relationships, both internally and with clients themselves
• Experience managing retail and/or travel clients
• Strong numerical skills and commercially aware
• Results and target driven with excellent attention to detail
• Able to prioritise and multi-task, working with all agency departments as well as independently
