About the Role: Grade Level (for internal use): 12 The Team: You will be part of the China commodities pod which sits within the China heavy industries team. We value integrity, excellence and teamwork. The Impact: You will be a senior analytical member in the team covering a portfolio of China commodities credits. You are responsible for covering the industries and companies assigned and deliver our credit views to the market to make an impact. You are also the key representative to maintain relationships with rated issuers and are responsible for market outreach activities. As a Senior Analyst/ Associate Director, you can learn from and influence the fast-moving capital markets via the credit opinions and market research that we publish. You will also engage with senior management that we serve and build independent views that feed into rating committee decisions . Responsibilities: • Manage a portfolio of China commodities credits and develop a deep understanding of the industries and companies. • Produce high quality rating reports and industry commentaries to be impactful in the market. • Manage issuer relationships by attending management meetings and interacting with senior management to obtain information for our credit rating decisions. • Interact with investors and other market participants on our credit views. • Represent our team in regional or global projects. What We're Looking For: • Bachelor degree is required. MBA or CFA is preferable. • An S&P Global employee would typically have 10+ years of experience in financial services, credit or a relevant industry sector. • Strong communication skills in both English and Mandarin Chinese. • Strong writing skills. • Excellent analytical skills. • Good understanding of the credit markets, the dynamics and relevant regulations of the China commodities industry. • Candidates with lesser experience may be considered a Senior Analyst.
