Responsibilities: Develop and implement a comprehensive data governance strategy, including policies, procedures, and standards, to promote data quality, privacy, security, and risk management. Define data governance roles and responsibilities, ensuring clear accountability and ownership of data assets throughout the organization. Collaborate with business and technology leaders to align data governance efforts with strategic goals and objectives, ensuring data is treated as a valuable asset. Establish and maintain a data governance framework that encompasses data classifications, data dictionaries, metadata management, data lineage, and data quality controls. Design and implement data governance processes, such as data retrievals, access controls, data retention policies, and data disposal procedures, to meet regulatory requirements and industry standards. Conduct data risk assessments and audits to identify gaps, recommend improvements, and monitor progress in addressing data governance issues. Collaborate with various teams to define and enforce data standards, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and integrity across systems, applications, and databases. Develop and deliver data governance training programs and awareness campaigns to promote data literacy and foster a data-driven culture. Stay abreast of emerging data governance trends, technologies, and regulations, and recommend enhancements to our data governance framework accordingly. Lead cross-functional data governance committees, providing expertise, guidance, and support to resolve data-related issues, and ensure compliance with internal policies and external mandates. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred. At least 10 years of experience in data governance and related areas, preferably within the financial services industry. In-depth knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards related to data governance, privacy, and security, such as GDPR, CCPA, and SOX. Strong understanding of data management principles, including data quality, metadata management, data lineage, and data classification. Prior Data Analytics experience to craft out the best data governance policy from a user perspective. Proven track record of collaborating with stakeholders to drive data governance initiatives and foster a data-centric culture. Excellent leadership skills, with the ability to influence and motivate cross-functional teams. Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities. Fluent in data governance technologies, tools, and platforms, such as data cataloging, data lineage, and data quality tools.
