Forum is our Content Creation business. We produce research that allows institutional investors to make better and faster investment decisions. We conduct in depth Interviews with senior executives and industry specialists to unearth critical insights and generate unfiltered transcripts. 

Our 175-strong industry aligned team covers over 18,000 public and private companies, applying data-driven factor models to identify where capital is most likely to be deployed.  

In order for us to deliver on our ambitious growth targets, we would like to recruit an Associate to assist our growing team in Hong Kong and Japan in identifying and engaging with the most relevant industry professionals to take part in upcoming interview discussions.

Responsibilities

In this role your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

• Performing research on industries and businesses in Pan-Asia region, with a focus on the Japan market, in order to source and identify the most relevant individuals (C-level executives and practitioners working at the heart of their industries) to take part in moderated interviews

• Engaging these individuals to invite them to participate in our research, while assessing and ensuring that their insights are relevant and their fees are within budget
• Building a professional network and monitoring the relevant markets/companies in the assigned sector areas according to Forum content coverage strategies
• Working in tight deadlines and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders across different global offices

Requirements

About the talent:

• PhD or Master’s in Chinese Medicines, Chemistry, Pharmacy, Pharmacology, Biochemistry, Biomedical Science, Material Science, Food and Nutritional Science, Chemical Engineering or relevant discipline.
• >3 years experience in leading a group of research staff to execute research projects. Experience in TCM research, nanotechnology or formulation technology is highly preferred.

We are currently seeking to add to our pension consulting team.  Based in Hong Kong, this role will oversee the delivery of client work and support business development activities.  You will take a proactive approach at supporting business development and client deliveries for both existing and prospective clients. POSITION SCOPE

We will count on you to:

• Be the lead consultant responsible to deliver calculations/ comparative analytics/ survey findings/ pension related advice with close management of team effort with high quality and in a time efficient approach.
• Act as the subject-matter expert in focused retirement topics.  Understand appropriate Mercer methods and tools (or recognized equivalent) in coaching junior members in completing assignments. 
• Serve as a lead consultant on medium and large clients and/ or second on jumbo clients.  Work on cross-geography retirement teams and projects.
• Attend to day-to-day enquiries from clients or internal counterparts in a responsive manner.
• Contribute to research and intellectual property regarding pension systems in Hong Kong, Greater China and Asia, as part of forming Mercer’s views on pension trends.  You will be able to apply your findings to arrive at recommendations or observations to add value to our clients.

What you need to have:

• Work closely with the investment team to originate due diligence and research to interpret investment trends, and develop research and marketing content and related models and analytics • Conduct and originate fundamental and quantitative research and statistical analyses on the firm's existing and new investment strategies including related geography, and industry trends • 1-2 years experience in a research or quantitative analytics role within an investment, financial services management consulting or investment consulting environment • Bachelor or master's degree in Finance, Mathematics, Economics, or a related field • Advanced proficiency for building MS Powerpoint presentations and using MS Excel for financial data analyses.
