OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE  

The Infopro Digital Business Exec position is a team-oriented, quota carrying role that will focus on revenue generation for the Global Financial Market brands, specifically selling our Risk.Net, FX Markets and Waters Technology products to clients globally. This   role will sell enterprise access to our subscriptions and memberships to new clients, whilst working alongside the Account Management team to ensure clients buy our full suite of products.   The Business Development Manager will work with an entrepreneurial mindset that demonstrates drive, initiative, energy and a sense of urgency.  

You will work closely with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to develop strategic initiatives that support the company’s objectives in the financial services industry. You will be expected to leverage your expertise and networks to generate leads, close high-value deals, and expand the company's footprint in key global markets. 

KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES  

• Strategic Planning: Collaborate with internal teams to develop and execute a strategic business development plan that aligns with the company's goals and targets in the global financial market. 
• Sales and Negotiation: Lead the sales process from lead generation to contract negotiations, ensuring the successful closure of deals. This includes conducting presentations, proposals, and product demonstrations tailored to the needs of financial institutions 
• Revenue Generation: Meet or exceed sales targets and KPIs, driving revenue growth through new customer acquisition and existing client expansion 
• Market Expansion: Identify and pursue new business opportunities across global financial markets, focusing on investment banks, asset managers, hedge funds, fintech firms, and other financial institutions.

We are seeking an exceptional Senior Scientific Officer & Head of R&D to lead our Research and Development department. The ideal candidate will be a visionary leader with a strong scientific background, a passion for innovation, and a proven track record of successfully managing and executing research projects. As the Head of R&D, you will be responsible for setting the strategic direction of our research efforts, overseeing project planning and execution, and fostering a culture of scientific excellence.

Responsibilities:

• Provide strategic leadership and vision for the Research and Development department, aligning research goals with the overall company mission and objectives.
• Lead and manage a team of scientists, researchers, and technical staff, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
• Develop and execute the R&D strategy, including the identification of key research areas, project prioritization, resource allocation, and timelines.
• Stay abreast of the latest scientific advancements, emerging technologies, and industry trends to guide research priorities and opportunities.
• Foster a culture of scientific excellence, promoting best practices, knowledge sharing, and continuous learning within the R&D team.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Marketing, Product Development, and Regulatory Affairs, to ensure alignment and successful commercialization of research outcomes.

• Ph.D. in a scientific discipline related to the industry/sector (e.g., Chemistry, Biology, Engineering, etc.). Post-doctoral experience is preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in scientific research and development, with a proven track record of leading successful R&D initiatives.
• Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team of scientists and researchers.
• Excellent knowledge of scientific methodologies, experimental design, and data analysis techniques.
• Demonstrated expertise in the development and application of innovative technologies and solutions.
• Proven ability to translate scientific research into commercial applications and products.
• Strong project management skills, including the ability to prioritize, plan, and execute multiple projects simultaneously.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex scientific concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

About this job:

The Sales Manager for GfK will provide global leading information services and products to our clients, mostly in the technology & durable consumer goods industry. Our data offers comprehensive and timely information on market shares and category penetration, competitive sales volumes and insights into distribution, pricing, merchandising and promotion. By combining this detailed information with our professional consultative services, we offer valuable insights and expertise that help our clients improve their manufacturing, marketing and sales decisions.  The role will be working in the commercial team.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Client Relationship Management

• Own the client relationship and lead the client engagement for the assigned accounts by having a strong understanding their business priorities
• Foster relationships at all levels and functions of the client organization to identify opportunities for incremental product/solution sales
• Work with delivery team to ensure client service standards are delivered

Business Development

• Provide relevant product solutions that answers client business issues/opportunities
• Develop a winning sales framework for retaining current and approaching new clients
• Work on strategy and approach to win back lapsed clients
• Launch and introduce new services in the market to drive adoption among clients
• Build a strong pipeline through regular engagement with clients
• Build the company’s positive image through active participation in professional associations and industry conferences/seminars
• Contribute to the short-term strategies and business plans for the growth of the business unit based on global and regional direction

Financial Management

• Achieve key financial metrics: revenue and profitability, as well as other related business development objectives
• Ensure proper pricing and contracts are applied according to company's policies and guidelines
• Understand the companies financial guidelines such as forecast and pipeline management
• Use sales technology and digital tools to do work efficiently by recording prospects, forecast pipeline and convert sales
• Monitor the actual financial performance against budget/forecast and ensure the implementation of actions that will lead to the achievement of the targets

Here is what we are looking for additionally:

• Bachelor's or above degree
• Strong business understanding in technology & durable consumer goods markets and related retail landscape
• Ideally at least 5+ years of experience in consulting, market research, or business development.
• Prior working experiences with IT, Telecom, and Home Appliances accounts, knowledge of research techniques, strong analytical skills and business commercial acumen would be an added advantage
• Good English language skills
• Strong presentation and communication skills, client-centric approach
• Proactive and consistent engagement with multi-disciplined teams
• Passion, dedication, and commitment
