About the Role

The Financial Controller acts as the critical link between finance and the key stakeholders of the business.

This role undertakes all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecasts preparation, as well as development of internal control policies and procedures.

You will Assume a lead role in managing the financial accounting process/HKMA reporting As a key liaison partner with the auditors in handling the financial close process and to support the updates to the local Audit Committee and the Board Oversee all of HKMA reporting for the banking entities and be the key finance contact with HKMA for regulatory reporting matters Ensure the appropriate implementation of the Banking Disclosure rules, following the established governance framework Partner effectively and efficiently with LOB teams, Risk functions, Technology and other key stakeholders to strengthen the control process and efficiency Provide leadership and drive execution of financial reporting change initiatives such as implementation of new accounting and control standards Develop and validate consistent end to end process flows to improve control and accuracy Lead the team to strengthen the reporting and control procedures to enable the Bank to accurately prepare for the statutory reporting, group reporting and HKMA reporting Lead various finance and regulatory reporting system change projects with an objective to enhance control and efficiency To be considered, you should be a qualified accountant with a minimum of 15 years of experience in banking industry. The Financial Coach and Training Specialist will coordinate and provide financial counselling/coaching services.

• Provide individual financial training for using tools such as detailed financial assessments and budgets to provide strategies for saving and credit building.

• Provide financial trainings in individual and small group sessions

• Provide individualized financial counseling sessions (including both initial and follow-up sessions) and achieve client outcomes..

• Support the creation of new workshops in budgeting, banking, and credit.

• Ensure that all training requirements are met for participants in budgeting, cash management, savings, and credit building. Ensure that participants complete the required training.

• Increase participant knowledge of financial services and credit offerings.

• Explore into financial services hiring and train the staff

• Helps create financial plans to achieve their goals.

• Answers financial questions and addresses concerns.

• Coaching on building long-term relationships.

•   Analyzes market and economic trends.

• Stays up to date on relevant government policies.

•  Undergraduate degree preferred, or a combination of equivalent years of education and related work experience.

•  Experience with financial education, counseling, and coaching.

• Demonstrated understanding of personal finances, particularly in the areas of budgeting, asset building, and credit building. Previous work experience in teaching basic financial literacy is preferred. 

•  Ability to effectively coach clients through the nuanced process of family budgeting, goal setting, asset and credit building.
